Surat: The passengers flying frequently from Surat to Delhi have opposed the decision of Air India (AI) authorities to introduce an ATR aircraft in its morning scheduled between Delhi and Surat from December 1.
Sources said that the AI authorities in New Delhi had expressed their desire to launch Airbus operations between Surat and Delhi in the morning schedule. However, the new winter schedule announced by the AI has the 66-seater ATR aircraft.
At present, the AI operates CRJ aircraft on Surat-Delhi sector in the morning. The AI also operates Surat-Mumbai service thrice a week followed by daily operation of Airbus in the evening between Surat and Delhi.
According to the new schedule, the AI will be operating CRJ aircraft on Surat-Delhi sector from October 30 to November 30 in the morning schedule. From December 1, the CRJ will be replaced by an ATR aircraft.
