Jet Airways is the largest Indian airline with its head office at Mumbai, Maharashtra under the parent company Tailwinds Limited. With a fleet size of 101 aircraft, it controls 400 flights daily to 76 destinations in India and abroad. Other than the operating hubs in India it also possesses an international hub which is located in Brussels Airport, Belgium. Jet Airways commenced its commercial operations on the 5th of May 1993 and it is one of the oldest aircraft in India.
It had a modest beginning with a cargo of only 4 Boeing 737-300 aircraft and with this it grew up to the current position in a short span of time and today stands proudly as the largest private airline in India. It started its international operation in 2004 with the first flight scheduled from Chennai to Colombo. One of the major milestones in the expansion of Jet Airways was the acquisition of Air Sahara in 2006 and the latter was renamed JetLite. Today it has JetKonnect as its low-cost subsidiary airline.
