Mumbai: The Wadia group-promoted GoAir has become the first domestic airline to operate night flights to Port Blair's Veer Savarkar International Airport with the roll out of an commercial charter flight from Bengaluru.
GoAir's maiden commercial charter flight G8 1291 took off from Bengaluru around 11.15pm on January 20 and landed at Port Blair airport at 1.50am the next day, the airline said in a release.
As part of its charter operations, GoAir will operate a total of 14 night flights on the sector till March, it said.
Of these, three night flights will be operated this month, five in February and six in March, it said, adding that all flights will arrive at Port Blair from Bengaluru at 0150 hours (past midnight) and depart for Bengaluru from Port at 2.20am.
