New Delhi: Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) has exempted airline cabs from the additional fee of Rs 150 that commercial vehicles are being charged since October 20, 2015. Cabs will now be allowed to pick up airline employees from the staff parking located near T3. The parking site is well-lit and fully secured by the airport's security staff.
Representatives from a few airlines had earlier met senior Delhi Police officials expressing concern over the safety of their women staff as airline cab drivers were not willing to pay an additional Rs 150 to pick them up. This left them with no option but to leave the airport premises and hire a cab from outside even during odd hours.
DIAL has also extended the pick-up and drop-off facilities for airport employees at the airport staff parking for Rs 400 monthly. The facility is for all airlines staff who get picked up from their airlines or agencies.
