GSECL mulls cargo complex in Surat, Indore

Ahmedabad: Gujarat State Export Corporation Limited (GSECL) is toying with the idea of setting up new cargo complexes at Surat and Indore. For the Indore venture, the company has already participated in a tender issued by Airport Authority of India (AAI).
Speaking to FE, GSECL director Sameer Mankad said, “The company is mulling establishing a cargo complex in Surat. At present, the work at Surat Airport is going on. When the work is completed, the company would initiate the process of setting up the cargo complex”.
He said once the airport is fully functional, the company would have to seek permission from AAI for setting up cargo complex. However, he refused to give details of the investment on the ground that the project is in its nascent stage.
