Singapore: Mainboard-listed SIA Engineering Company on Wednesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Wadia Group of India to form a joint venture company to offer maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services in India.
Both companies aim to provide lower cost MRO services to both Indian and international airlines by tapping into India's large pool of engineering talent.
The proposed joint venture will first offer line maintenance services at eight major airports for both narrow- and wide-bodied aircrafts.
There are also plans to develop the company to become a specialist in airframe maintenance of A320 and B737NG airliners by setting up an aerospace engineering training institute.
