Toulouse (France): IndiGo, India's newest low-fare carrier, on Friday took delivery of its first brand new Airbus A320 aircraft at the Airbus factory here.
The airline has ordered 100 brand new 180-seater A320 family aircrafts. It will introduce a new A320-232 aircraft every month during the remainder of 2006, and nine more in 2007.
By December 2007, IndiGo’s fleet will comprise a total of 15 aircrafts. From August 4, the first plane will be used to offer a daily non-stop service between Delhi and Guwahati, with a same-aircraft continuation to Imphal.
From August 10, the same aircraft will also be used for a non-stop daily service between Delhi and Pune, with a same-aircraft continuation to Bangalore.
