Patel’s bouquet to flower growers

New Delhi: Civil aviation minister Praful Patel has assured that the 50% air freight subsidy for cut-flowers from Srinagar to New Delhi will be restored soon.
His assurance came after water resources minister Saifuddin Soz on Thursday urged him to do so in the interest of the Valley’s flower growers. This subsidy was suddenly discontinued from June 18 this year.
Soz acquainted Patel with the background of this subsidy and told him how its withdrawal could affect flower growers, generally the poor, in Kashmir.
According to an official press release, Patel was convinced and assured Soz that the subsidy would be restored forthwith.
