Mumbai/Ahmedabad: Kingfisher Airlines is set to start cargo shipment from Ahmedabad airport and is also in the process of acquiring land for expansion of its warehouse.
The land that Kingfisher has applied is more than 800 sq ft and is adjoining to its existing warehouse.
Kingfisher Airlines is also planning to float its own air cargo service, King Cargo, sometime in August this year with an investment of around Rs 60-65 crore. The venture might involve purchase of aircraft exclusively for cargo operations.
Kingfisher has already initiated its cargo services in Ahmedabad by inbound cargo from its Ahmedabad-Pune-Bangalore passenger flights.
Most of these cargo comes from Bangalore. It will also start inbound cargo in its Ahmedabad-Kolkota flights in the next fifteen days.
