AI to appoint PMC for Bial Cargo terminal

Mumbai: National carrier Air-India will appoint a project management consultant within two months for designing and constructing a new cargo terminal at the international airport at Devanahalli in suburban Bangalore.
The carrier has invited expression of interests for the PMC, which will design and construct the new cargo terminal in 15 months, a top AI official said.
The project cost is estimated at Rs 41 crore.
AI, along with its consortium partners, Singapore Airport Terminal Services Ltd (SATS), Bangalore-based Bobba Group and UK's Menzies Global Aviation, had bagged the cargo handling contract for the Bangalore International Airport Ltd, which includes freight-handling service for a period of 20 years from April 2008, when the airport is expected to commence operation.
