New aircraft in SpiceJet's fleet

SpiceJet has in its fleet the sixth Boeing 737-800 winglet, new generation aircraft which arrived from Seattle, US. With the induction of this new aircraft, the company has increased its passenger seat capacity from 7500 seats to over 9000 seats a day, leading to an effective increase in daily flights from 36 to 49 flights a day. The aircraft will be operational from 10 May onwards. Following this, SpiceJet now offers new flight between Mumbai and Hyderabad and in addition, Mumbai also gets second flight to Chennai. In addition, SpiceJet is also introducing additional flights on Delhi-Hyderabad-Chennai and Delhi-Jammu-Srinagar. According to Ajay Singh, director, SpiceJet, the aricraft will provide cost saving performance that supports the airline's low cost structure.
